General Event Questions

What is the Bear Run?
The Bear Run is our school’s annual fun run/walk event that helps raise money to support essential programs and activities at Schwarzkopf Elementary. It’s a great opportunity for students to get active, enjoy time with their classmates, and work toward fundraising goals that directly benefit their school.

When is the Bear Run?
This year’s Bear Run will take place on October 4, 2024. The event is divided into different time slots for each grade level.

Where does the Bear Run take place?
The Bear Run will be held on the playground track at Schwarzkopf Elementary.

Why are we raising money?
The funds raised from the Bear Run go directly toward improving our Media Center, providing student incentives, and purchasing supplies for classrooms. Every donation helps improve the educational experience for all students at our school.

Registration and Participation

How do I register my child for the Bear Run?
To register your child, visit GetMovinFundHub.com and log in or create an account. Use our school ID (5d2f4adf5f19a) to link your child’s profile to the Bear Run event. Once registered, you can share your child’s fundraising page with family and friends to start collecting donations.

What is the fundraising goal for each student?
We encourage each student to aim for $40. This goal helps us reach our school-wide target of $35,000, but students are welcome to set higher goals if they’d like. They can evern certain prizes and rewards.

Can my child still participate if they don’t raise any money?
Yes! Every student is welcome to participate in the Bear Run, regardless of whether they raise funds. However, we do encourage all students to try and gather donations, as every little bit helps. It starts by registering and sharing your student's fundraising pages.

How can parents participate?
Parents are welcome to participate in the Bear Run alongside their children. If you plan to join in, please pre-register through this form to ensure a smooth check-in process on the day of the event. Please note that we can allow a maximum of two family members per student. Make sure you register with the district via their volunteer application. Keep in mind, only two parents per student and younger siblings are unable to attend. Arrive 10 minutes before your student's designated time with your ID. Meet your students at the Bear Den. For parking, please stay in designated areas (The Shell Lot or along the park). Do not park in driveways or in the grass.

What should my child wear for the event?
We recommend comfortable running shoes, a school spirit shirt or uniform, and sunblock. If your child has a sensitivity to sound, they may want to bring headphones or earplugs, as there will be music playing throughout the event.

Fundraising and Donations

How can I donate?
There are several ways to donate:

  1. Online: Donate through your child’s fundraising page at GetMovinFundHub.com. This is the easiest and quickest way to contribute.
  2. Cash or Check: You can send donations to school with your child using the Cash/Check Donation Form or drop them off at the front office. All checks should be made payable to Schwarzkopf Elementary PTA.

When are donations due?
All donations—whether online, cash, or check—must be submitted by October 4, 2024, the day of the Bear Run.

Is there a minimum donation amount?
No! We appreciate any amount you can contribute. Whether it’s $5 or $100, every dollar helps us reach our fundraising goal.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Donations made to the Schwarzkopf Elementary PTA can be tax-deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor for more details on how your donation may be applied to your taxes.

What’s the school’s fundraising goal?
Our overall goal is to raise $35,000 to fund Media Center improvements, student incentives, and classroom supplies. We’ll update our website regularly with a progress bar so you can see how close we are to reaching that goal.
