Summer is here!
Dear Schwarzkopf Families and Friends,
As the PTA reflects on the 2020-2021 school year, we will forever remember this year as the year we came together and faced all the challenges with more courage and passion than ever before! It has revealed new insights about ourselves and the people around us—who we are and what we are capable of, as individuals and as a community. It has yielded moments of both deep dismay and profound gratitude but in the end, I am so proud to celebrate our growth and achievements. I truly believe that change is the only way to grow and although we were not exactly anticipating such a monumental event, it showed us that our community is up for the challenge!
On behalf of the PTA Executive Board, I want to thank the entire school community and families for their support of our many new programs and events for our students at Schwarzkopf this year. From a simple PTA membership to volunteering for an event, from chairing or sponsoring an event or a program, your contributions of time, effort, and/or money have helped broaden our student's educational experience. Your support of the PTA is vital to our community and has truly helped expand every child's opportunity for growth this year.
Even though we were limited in our ability to execute many of our traditional events and programs, the PTA was able to continue providing support for our teachers and staff as well as successfully carry out various fun and exciting events for our students. The PTA introduced a new Fitathon Fundraiser and was able to surpass our goal, all thanks to our amazing families and business partners! We were also able to provide essential needs to our school such as teacher grants for classroom supplies, computers for our teachers, new cleaning equipment for our custodial staff, and organize staff appreciation gifts for all our amazing teachers and staff. And just to name a few more events, our students got to attend our adapted yet fun seasonal pumpkin patch, shop online at our virtual Holiday Shop, work on our creativity with Mrs. Campbell through our Art Club, and spread kindness with our Kindness Bingo Month. Our last big addition to the school will be our brand new book vending machine for our Media Center! Through it all, we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute in any way to our student's experience at Schwarzkopf.
None of this would have been possible without your membership and support from our staff, teachers, parents, business partners, and our rockstar group of volunteers!!! Our motto is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. This is our why and this year it has proven to us that when we come together with kindness and generosity nothing is impossible.
Although we grieve what we had to miss this year, we cherish all we were able to experience. It has been my privilege to serve as President of the Schwarzkopf PTA for this last year and look forward to making next year even better! I encourage you to sign up for something new next year, and you can see for yourself what an amazing school we have the privilege of calling our own. Be the Change!
To the families who are moving on to new locations and new schools, we wish you happy and healthy new beginnings.
Have a great summer and remember “Stay Safe and Healthy! Have fun and enjoy your family and loved ones”.
