General Schwarzkopf
Hillsborough County Public Schools named our school in honor of General H Norman Schwarzkopf on May 7, 1991. We opened on January 19, 1993. The original 500 charter students selected the "Bear" as the school mascot in honor of the General, and chose the colors of garnet and silver. Preceding the mid-year opening of the school building, the school was situated on the back campus of Citrus Park Elementary from August 1992 to January 1993.
"I have been lucky enough to receive honors from kings, queens and presidents all over the world.
There is no greater honor than having this school named after me."
--General H Norman Schwarzkopf, May 2, 1993
