What is PTA?
PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. It's a national organization that works to promote the welfare of children and youth by fostering cooperation between parents, teachers, and the school community. PTAs play a vital role in advocating for educational improvements, organizing events, and raising funds to support schools and students.
At Schwarzkopf PTA, we partner with the school and greater community to support our teachers and staff, engage with families, and advocate for the best possible education for our students. We believe that a strong school creates a strong community.
PTA is more than just fundraisers, newsletters, and staff lunches. It was founded in 1897 as the National Congress of Mothers, is the nation’s oldest and largest child advocacy association. Its historical achievements include advocating for the establishment of public school kindergarten, child labor laws and the federal school lunch program.
